Asked to speak at the AI-West event last night in Bristol on “AI Tools to Build Efficient Workflows & Apps”, I flagged three trends we are seeing in workplace AI adoption - my full deck here.
💡Trend 1- Context is king - give your model as much information as possible to form intelligent, relevant responses. Context Engineering is set to replace Prompt Engineering and use MCPs to connect to internal databases.
💡Trend 2: Trust remains a barrier to adoption. Who is to blame when things go wrong? Data from online payments firms suggest Braintrust is on a tear as a solution to alleviate CTO and legal concerns around evals, observability and agent reliability
💡Trend 3: The rise of horizontal AI platforms and browsers. I remain a big fan of the vertical specialist AI solutions like Gamma for presentations, Granola for call notes, Beyondwords for transcription, and Fyxer for email management. But the LLMs are moving fast into the application layer and looking to bring the full suite of tools into your browser as always-on assistants.

Meanwhile, two AI and Media stories to flag this week. Penske Media Corporation, owner of Rolling Stone, has sued Google, alleging the tech giant illegally uses its journalism to power AI summaries and therefore reduces traffic to its sites. Google has largely been out of the firing line with OpenAI, Perplexity and Cohere receiving most of the flak, so this represents a new significant skirmish.
Finally, The Hollywood Reporter lifts the lid on mega-AI podcaster Inception Point AI, who use 184 custom AI agents to pump out 3000 different episodes a week, and see what sticks—queue mass AI-slopapocalypse hysteria. At $1 cost per episode and 10 million downloads, the financials may just stack up, but don't expect any Webby Awards.
Mark Riley, CEO Mathison AI
Hi
AI will be a substantial competitive advantage for those who master it. But most are still struggling with adoption because rolling out a chatbot or copilot isn’t enough to get people using it.
At Mathison AI, we are helping CEOs like you rapidly discover and prototype high-impact AI use cases tailored to your business.
We’re currently working with global and local enterprises to identify areas where AI can drive real operational value — from automation and cost savings to entirely new product ideas.
If you’re exploring AI and want a clear, low-risk way to get started, I’d love to share how we approach it through fast education sessions and hands-on prototyping.
